THE RECONSTRUCTION OF ISLAMIC THOUGHT IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY AND BEDIUZZAMAN SAID NURSI  

Ümit Şimşek was born in 1950 in Istanbul, and entered the publishing world at an early age. In 1967 he began to work on a number of newspapers and magazines, and on the Yeni Asya and Yeni Nesil newspapers since their inception. In 1979 he played an active role in the setting up of the Yeni Asya Research Centre, which opened up a new field with the series of works combining modem science and belief in God, called İlim Teknik Serisi He became the first General Coordinator of the Centre. Ümit Şimşek at present works as a freelance writer, contributing regularly to the monthly magazine, Zafer, and from time to time to other newspapers and magazines. His published works include: 1.
