THE RECONSTRUCTION OF ISLAMIC THOUGHT IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY AND BEDIUZZAMAN SAID NURSI  

Safâ Mürsel was born in 1949 in Tavas in the province of Denizli, where he received his primary and secondary education. He then attended Denizli High School. After graduating from here, he entered the Law Faculty of Istanbul University, from which he graduated in 1973. Following this he did post-graduate work and qualified as a barrister in 1975, At present Safâ Mürsel works as a freelance barrister. He has written numerous articles for a daily newspaper and for magazines and journals. His published works include, Bediüzzaman Said Nursî ve Devlet Felsefisi (Bediüzzaman Said Nursi and His Philosophy of the State); Siyasî Düşünce Tarih Işığında Bediüzzaman Said Nursî (Bediüzzaman Said Nursi in the Light of the History of Political Thought); Laikliğin Neresindeyiz? (Where are We with Secularism?); and a work on Article 163 of the Turkish Criminal Code, In addition to these, he has published works on education, culture, and politics written in collaboration with others.
